How to create a product

We’re excited to have you on board and grateful for your interest in Daybook. Our mission is simple: to become an extension of your team, helping you manage daily operations with ease, clarity, and confidence.

Daybook offers a suite of online tools designed to streamline workflows and organize your business data. In this guide, we’ll introduce you to one of our most powerful features the Products Tool.

What Is the Products Tool?

The Products Tool lets you create and manage product or service entries that can be reused across your business operations. Whether you're generating invoices or showcasing offerings on your website (hosted by Daybook), this tool saves you time and keeps your data consistent.

Why Should I Create Product or Service Entries?

We built the Products Tool with two key goals in mind:

  • Simplify invoicing: Instead of manually entering product details every time you create an invoice, you can select from your saved entries—saving time and reducing errors.
  • Power your website: If your website is hosted by Daybook, you can automatically display product or service details directly from your saved entries.

What Information Can I Save?

You can store a wide range of details for each product or service, including:

  • Title and description
  • Price and unit type
  • VAT settings (if applicable)
  • And more custom fields as needed

Can I Add Custom Fields?

Absolutely. If you need additional fields to support your operations, just let us know. We’re here to collaborate and tailor the tool to your needs.

Is There a Cost to Use the Products Tool?

You can start using the Products Tool for free—every account comes with a generous usage limit. If you ever need more, just reach out and we’ll work with you to find the best solution.

Can My Team Access the Products Tool?

By default, only company account owners or users with the Can Change Permissions role can view and manage product data. To grant access to your team:

  • Assign specific permissions such as View, Edit, Delete, or Change Permissions
  • You remain in full control of who can do what
