What’s a Company Account and Why Do You Need One?

In this guide, we’ll walk you through:

  • What a company account is
  • How to create one
  • How many company accounts you can create under a single personal login
  • And other common questions you might have

Let’s dive in

How Do I Sign Up?

Getting started is simple. You only need one personal account to access Daybook. Head over to our Register Daybook account page and fill in your details—first name, last name, email, username, and password.

Once registered, you’ll use this account to log in and create your company account.

Why Create a Company Account?

Your company account is the core of your Daybook experience. Without it, you won’t be able to use the platform.

Creating a company account lets you:

  • Add applications to manage your business data (e.g., Customers, Vehicles, Staff, Products, Invoices, etc.)
  • Invite your team to collaborate within the same account
  • Control access permissions for each team member and each application

Note: Staff members won’t have access to all data by default. You’ll need to assign permissions for each app individually.

How Do I Create a Company Account?

Once you’ve signed up and logged in, click the menu button and select “Create New Company”. Fill in your company details, and voilà - your company account is ready.

Bonus: You can create multiple company accounts using the same login. If you run five businesses, you can manage all five from one personal account. Just go to the “All Companies” section in the menu to view and switch between them easily using the “Log as [Company Name]” button.

No need to juggle multiple logins or passwords - we’ve made it simple.

Why Do I Need to Fill in Company Details?

We use your company details to:

  • Verify your business
  • Automatically populate fields in applications like Invoices (e.g., company name, billing email, logo)

Uploading your company logo also replaces the Daybook branding, so your team feels like they’re working within your own platform not an external one.

Who Can Access or Edit Company Details?

You’re in control. By default, staff members you invite won’t have permission to view, edit, or manage user roles. You decide who gets access and what they can do.

What’s Next After Creating a Company?

Once your company account is set up, you can start adding the applications you need to manage your data, team, and tasks. Visit our “all applications”

page to explore everything we offer—from Staff and Customers to Daybook and more.

What Does It Cost?

It depends on how much data you manage. If you're a solo entrepreneur, you can use Daybook for free. For example:

  • Create a limited number of invoices per year
  • Store basic customer data

If you need more capacity, we’ll help you scale. As a rough guide:

  • Hosting your website might cost around £250/year
  • Using Daybook with 20 staff could cost about £600/year
